We divided the pupils in to 6 groups with a member of staff as their captain. Each group was randomly assigned a country from the Six Nations Rugby Tournament ๐Ÿ‰ . Each pupil had to take a rugby selfie ๐Ÿคณ and come up with their own nickname. Each week we will make a popular food from the county that is playing Ireland. This week we made Croissants ๐Ÿฅ. The competition and banter has already started in the Hive. Good luck to all teams with extra luck going to Ireland โ˜˜๏ธ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

What a great day out! Our first ever travel training session to Belfast, using a familiar mode of transport. We did some sight seeing and made time to check out a few favourite spots before having lunch and heading home. Great work practicing independent life skills everyone!

Check out these amazing shakers we have made for Primary pupils using recycled materials! Iโ€™m sure they will be very pleased with their musical crafty gifts from us!

We used our Y Link cards to travel on the bus to Bloomfield Shopping Centre. Great communication everyone!

World Mental Health Day: Tea & Talk or Coffee & Chat

To mark World Mental Health Day, the pupils in Year 13 and Year 14 decide to spread a little joy around school. They made, packed and delivered Rice Krispie Treats to every class in the school. The Busy Bees from the Beehive Cafe hosted a Tea & Talk morning in the school staff room. The pupils worked in 15 minutes shifts over break time, serving tea, coffee and great conversation. Scott even treated some staff to a stand up comedy routine. After looking after others, they took time to look after themselves with coffee, computer games, pool, a walk to the beach and then finished off with a cone of their favourite ice cream. Well done to all the pupils in our Key Stage 5 Hive. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ

W/b 02/10: can you believe it is October already?! It was Graceโ€™s week for travel training and she led us very well around different parts of Bangor! Daniel the horse came to visit and we emailed him as he set off on his holidays.... Letโ€™s hope he stays in touch!

Check out our autumn/ Halloween themed ceramic plate art!

25/09: Travel training took us to Newtownards this week to learn about connecting busses! Thankfully Storm Agnes didnโ€™t blow us away! We had a talk from Volunteer NI to teach us all about opportunities moving forward.

Wb 18/09: another fantastic week, including travel training using three different bus routes! We had our first session with Orchardville and also did some lovely plate painting in art!

Wb 11/09: another busy week, with our first public travel training sessions using our Y Link cards, first day at work experience, and first session at the gym! Well done everyone for giving 100% and making great first impressions!
