February Highlights:

We started our new topic about Space this month with Miss Thompson, who is with us from Stranmillis. We created beautiful space pictures for our display board, and met Ziggy the alien! He was feeling worried, as he didn't know what to expect when he landed on earth, so we talked about what we could do to help others when they are feeling worried. 

One of our favourite days was when we went on the bus to the splash pool at Ards leisure centre. It was great fun jumping in and our of the water, and going down the slide.

January Highlights:

We loved sharing our news about our Christmas holidays when we returned to school. We started our new topic, 'Transport - Past and Present,' and learnt the Makaton signs for 'old' and 'new'. Our role-play area became a train station, and we worked as a team to create train carriages from large boxes. We had a fantastic trip out on the Wednesday bus to the Transport Museum. We explored the old trams, train and buses, and had great fun 'driving' the tractor!

In September we had great fun settling back into school, and our new classroom. We spent time learning where everything was, and started making some new friends too. We enjoyed sitting together every morning to greet each other during our circle time. 

We completed some 'Getting to know you' activities that helped us learn about each others families, and our likes and dislikes. We then started our 'Food, Glorious Food' topic.

One of our favourite days was when Pathways Activities came into school. We were able to play on the bouncy castles, get tattoos, and enjoy an ice-cream!

We also went out on the Wednesday bus to Mount Stewart, and worked together to build dens there.
