Key Stage 4 & 5 Options Morning 2023

On Tuesday 17^th October we hosted our annual Key Stage 4 & 5 Options Morning for our Year 12-14 pupils, parents and staff.

We were delighted that so many providers gave up their time to attend this event and offer support and information to our pupils and parents with regards to options and courses available to our young people after they leave Killard.

Some of the providers who were in attendance included: SERC  / NI Careers Advisory Service/ Cedar Foundation/ Orchardville / Rutledge  / Disability Action / Now Project/ Alternatives ‘START Programme’  and Killard’s Post 16 Department.

A great morning was had by all 😊

World Mental Health Day (10 Oct) is a day to talk about mental health and show everyone that mental health matters. It’s also a day to let people know that it’s okay to ask for help, no matter what you’re going through.

This year, over 260,000 people have had a Tea & Talk for World Mental Health Day - raising vital funds for mental health! Every donation supports our life-changing work and brings us closer to a world with good mental health for all.

Killard House School has been supporting the Donaghadee Community Development Association for the past three years, in their efforts towards "Britain in Bloom". This Year Donaghadee has been chosen to represent Northern Ireland in this prestigious competition so our contributions are bigger and better than ever! Over 220 window boxes were planted by pupils and distributed around the centre of town. This year's theme is "the sea", so expect to see lots of blues, whites and purples once the flowers fully open up! The judges will be visiting over summer - good luck Donaghadee!

A perfect morning of fun and games for our P4-P6 pupils from Mrs Thompson’s and Miss McNeilly’s class. It was wonderful to have family and friends interacting with the children as they enjoyed the range of experiences to be explored. Thanks to the staff teams for being so creative and supportive to each individual pupil needs as truly it is Together We Can!

Such a wonderful event this morning and so well organised. A super turn out of family and friends cheering all on and which added to the experience . Pupils were outstanding in their efforts and sportsmanship so well done to each of them and to all staff involved in . Particular thanks to Mr Bell and Mr Yeaman for the programme of events and ensuring it all ran so smoothly. Thanks to Mrs Kerr for co-ordinating all of the primary sports mornings and communicating information with parents. The photos are evidence of how much fun was had and are lovely to share with our parents so thanks to Mr Jamison. Y12 pupils and staff were great helpers this morning so we appreciate their further support at the next 2 events ( not Friday as they have a big event themselves! ) . Team work at it is best and lots of very happy pupils…….and staff!
