Welcome to P3/4 Mechelle's Class!

Our classroom is a happy, caring, and fun environment where children learn through exploration, creativity, and play. We are a class of 8 boys and 2 girls, and we enjoy learning together while celebrating each child's unique strengths and achievements.

Our teacher is Mechelle, and our Learning Support Workers are Kirsten and Naomi. Together, we create a nurturing and supportive environment where every child feels valued, included, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

We provide lots of opportunities for children to be creative, with the focus placed on the learning process rather than the end result. We encourage children to enjoy experiences, explore new ideas, and develop confidence, knowing that these meaningful moments will stay with them in their thoughts and hearts.

Our learning environment is child-led, with invitations to collaborate with peers, discover, explore, and develop investigation skills. We support children with a range of abilities and needs and work closely with Allied Health Professionals to support communication, sensory, and developmental needs.

The children in P3/4 love learning outdoors, and we are fortunate to have such a rich natural environment both within our school grounds and around Donaghadee. Some of our favourite outdoor activities include nature scavenger hunts, exploring seasonal changes, and collecting natural treasures to display on our classroom nature table.

We encourage independence in everything we do. Our children especially enjoy helping in class, and each week they take on special classroom jobs and responsibilities. We believe that every experience is an opportunity to learn, grow, and have fun together.
