Cathy's class

We’re delighted to introduce you to our vibrant little community, where six brilliant boys bounce through the door each day with big smiles, greeted warmly by Teacher Cathy, Michelle, and Lieve.

Our classroom is tucked around the side of the main school building in one of the new units. It’s a fantastic space that offers seamless access to our outdoor play area and a cosy sensory nook. Perfect for quiet moments and gentle exploration.

We strive to create a nurturing, homely atmosphere where children feel safe, relaxed, and truly at ease. This sense of security opens the door to trust and meaningful relationships — and then the real adventure begins, as we dive into exploring and learning together. Story time is a big favourite in our class, and you’ll find that much of our learning unfolds within the rich context of the stories we share.

Thanks for stopping by. We hope you enjoy scrolling through our page and getting a little glimpse into our world!

January and February in Cathy’s class.

We spent January and February wrapped up in all things winter — chilly weather, sparkling ice, and lots of heart‑themed fun. The children loved noticing what was happening outside and using those real‑life moments to inspire their learning indoors. We also began exploring recycling, talking about how we can help take care of our planet in simple, meaningful ways.

Valentine’s Day brought an extra burst of warmth to our winter days. The class enjoyed connecting their learning to the people they love, creating thoughtful work that celebrated kindness, friendship, and all the special relationships in their lives.

Christmas in Cathy's Class 2025!

We had a wonderful time celebrating winter and Christmas, filled with learning, laughter, and plenty of excitement. One of the highlights of our festivities was creating a special Christmas video to share with our families. The children especially loved “riding the reindeer” on our bale of hay — it brought so much joy and sohohoho much fun to our classroom.

Our learning has been full of natural wonder as we explored seasonal materials and used them in data handling activities, sorting leaves and creating pictographs to represent our findings.

Story time has brought plenty of giggles, especially with Jack and the Beanstalk and The Enormous Turnip. These tales not only sparked laughter but also helped us understand the theme of harvest and the importance of working together and asking for help when we need it.
