About Us

Welcome to our P5/6 class!

We are so excited to welcome everyone back to school! Our class is supported by a dedicated team consisting of myself, Alex, and Suzie. Our goal is for every child to enjoy coming to school, develop confidence in their own abilities and make progress at a pace that is right for them!

The classroom is organised into a range of areas that support learning, play and independence. These include a teacher-led learning area, tables for group work, a home corner, construction area and sensory activities. The children use these spaces throughout the day to develop their communication, social skills, confidence and problem-solving skills. As we have recently moved into our newly remodelled classroom, we are continuing to add resources and develop different areas of the room to best meet the needs and interests of the children.

We use a blend of the Equals Semi-Formal Curriculum and the Northern Ireland Curriculum. This allows us to meet the individual needs of each child while providing a broad range of learning experiences. Learning takes place through a mixture of direct teaching, practical activities, play and real-life experiences. We place a strong focus on supporting communication, literacy, numeracy, personal development and independence skills. Visual supports, clear routines and hands-on activities help the children feel secure and successful in their learning.

Seesaw is a great way to stay in touch with our class team if you have any questions, concerns or information you would like to share. We will also post regular updates on Seesaw so you can see what the children have been learning and enjoying in school each week.
