Mirren's Class
September Highlights
This first month of school has been all about settling in and having fun, and that is exactly what we have done in P2! Our topic this month was "Little People, Big Dreams", where we have gotten to know our young people and celebrated their individual strengths and dreams. During this topic we have read sensory stories about David Attenborough, Marcus Rashford and Queen Elizabeth. We have explored each inspirational person through a multi-sensory approach, having fun with outdoor activities, cookery, sensology, art and role play. We particularly enjoyed making our own football t-shirts and competing in the big football match "Miss Breen vs Miss Yeates" :).
October Highlights
This month we had so much fun exploring all things autumn! We developed our senses and understanding through autumn sensology and a scavenger hunt in our beautiful sensory garden! P2 loved dressing up for halloween and showed off their fabulous dance moves at our school disco 
November Highlights
This month we explored all things "space"! P2 had so much fun learning about the moon, sun and planets, through mutli-sensory play, cookery, sensory stories, singalong and outdoor learning. We particularly enjoyed reading the sensory story "Whatever Next", making rice cake planets in cookery and designing our Mr Potato Heads in the sensory garden. December Highlights
This month P2 have truly got in the festive spirit!! We had a fabulous bus trip to visit Santa Clause at Bloomfield's Shopping Centre, he was so impressed with P2 and reassured us that we are most definitely on the nice list 
we used the Smyths catalogue to make our own gorgeous Santa wish lists and enjoyed walking to our local post box to send our letters to the North Pole. On the last week P2 loved cosying up in our fluffy Christmas PJ's for a movie and party day. So much fun!!
