Mrs Dowling’s Literacy -Week beginning 8/6/20 ..........I hope this finds you all well,I am going to be honest with you and confess that I am feeling a little bit fed up and sad this week. We were hoping Lockdown would be eased and we could start seeing our family especially Amelia indoors, however this is not the case. It got me thinking about our pupils in school and I just want you all to know that “It’s ok not to be ok”! These feelings are normal but talking about how you are feeling helps, don’t keep it all bottled up inside, talk to someone you trust. This week’s work reflects this and I hope you give some of it a try,I hope it builds you up and makes you realise just how amazing you are ! Love Mrs D ❤️

It was strange having some rain this week; it had been a while. Joseph, Will and I went puddle hunting and had a great time splashing. I hope the sun will be back out again this week. We would have been of this Friday coming for a Bank Holiday so maybe treat yourself to a 4-day week 😊. I have allocated some new books and some maths games. I’m putting up a time capsule this week for you to check out, only if you want to ok. We are living through something that will be talked about for years to come, so thought it would be cool for you to store some of your information and thoughts in it. I am also posting some numeracy pages based on length. As always have a good go on what suits you. Please don’t be stressing about it. As always love and miss you all, Mr N 😊

Hey Year 10, I hope you have had a good week. I’ve been very thankful for the weather during this time. It has been amazing that we have been able to get outside so much and not be stuck inside all day. Joseph and I have been able to wash the car and have a water fight which has been lovely. Mrs Nelson is also giving me lots of DIY tasks to do around the house as well….not so lovely, lol, but needed. I have put up some 2D and 3D shape pages for you to have a go at, with some games on Active Learn. Have a great week. Miss and love you all, Mr Nelson ☺️

Good Day Year 10,
What fantastic weather we have had for the last number of weeks. I hope you have been able to soak up the sun. Mrs Marshall and I filled up two plastic buckets with water and splashed our feet. It was just like being at the beach, I splashed a little to much and Mrs Marshall told me off!

Dear Parents / Guardians, As explained in the school comms message that was sent home regarding new resources being uploaded for this term please check out the 2 help sheets that will hopefully allow you to access the Active Learn website from home. Once logged in you should be able to access Literacy / Numeracy and Science activities / resources for your son / daughter set by individual teachers. Teachers will explain on class pages what activities they have set and then hopefully when you get logged into Active Learn you will find specific resources / tasks / e-books set for your child. The first help sheet explains how to get on to the Active Learn website and how to log in. The second help sheet gives similar information followed by more specific details about e-reading books set for your child. Thank you Mrs A McBratney
Hey Year 10, I hope you have had an amazing Easter and got to spend lots of time out in the sunshine. I have to say I did have Easter egg for breakfast on more than one occasion and I hope you did as well. Missing all your chat and all the things we would have started getting excited about like Manchester and Sports Day. However, we must make the most out of this extra time, it’s an opportunity to have a go at learning a new skill. That could be trying to learn guitar, maybe some baking or art. Please don’t waste it sitting on your computer or phone. Looking forward to coming back and you all teaching me what you have learnt 😉 I have set some time work for all of Year 10 to try, worksheets and allocated a time game as well in Active Learn, just have a go with in you own ability. Remember to go outside as well and get lots of fresh air and exercise. Miss and love you all lots, Mr N
Hi lovely Year 10-I hope you all enjoyed the fantastic weather we had at Easter ! I hope it isn’t long until we are back at school working hard and enjoying the craic. Don’t Forget the Alphabet -pages 16-18 .Finding Phonics 2-pages 6 &7. Work hard ! Love Mrs D ❤️
Good day to you all Year 10

For the next number of weeks Mrs Dowling and I will be uploading Literacy tasks for our split class. If you are in Mrs Dowling half of the class please follow her tasks and if you are in my half of the class please follow my tasks. We will continue to allocate books on the Rapid Reading, just like in school. You can access this from home on a tablet, computer or phone. Go to the Active learn primary website .Your logins are you first initial and your surname. For example Harry Styles would be hstyles. The password is 12345. The school code is 97r6.
We will upload booklets on the school website for your to access and then tell you each week the pages we would like you to complete.
This week I am uploading:
1. Don't Forget the Alphabet
2. First 100 Words

If you do not have access to a printer, count how many times the word appears in the top section and write the words out that many times. In 'Big Phonics 1' please complete pages 3 and 4. If you do not have access to a printer. You can draw the correct answers or write the name of the correct answer on a separate page.
