Bradley, Jamie, Christopher and Kai did a good job of using puppets to tell the story of The Three Little Pigs. Some of the boys were playing a shapes game on the Interactive White Board.
We had some friends from Donaghadee Primary in our class today. We all had to introduce ourselves and talk a little bit about ourselves so that we could get to know each other. We then had to try and think about things they like about themselves. We all worked hard and got great answers.
P5 did some amazing Art. We made some Indian Rangoli patterns using coloured salt and our fingers to make designs on pages. Have a look at what they did. They were amazing.
Rangoli patterns in P5
We had a super day today. It was our first day of our “Shared Education “ programme with Donaghadee Primary School. We did all sorts of activities and played all kinds of games with each other to try and make new friends. Have a look at all the photos to see the different things that we did.
As part of our “Once Upon A Time” topic we have been bringing our favourite books into school to talk about them with our class and to hear them being read.
William did really great work playing a sounds game on the IWB.
Have a look at the Christmas fun we had in P5 today.
We have all been enjoying doing some crafts to get ready for Christmas in P5.
Noel did a good job of telling the Christmas story. Christopher and Kai were able to use the little figures in our puppet theatre to show what happened in the Nativity story.
P5 have enjoyed having a new teacher. It’s Baby Cohen and he has came with his mummy, to teach us all about Roots of Empathy. We are learning about how babies change as they get older, and about our feelings.
We have been busy wrapping our Christmas shopping presents that we chose when we went shopping last week. We only had to use about six rolls of sellotape! They are sitting safely below our Christmas tree waiting to go home.
We are doing some great Christmas writing in our class. We managed to get our Santa letters written so that they can be posted to the North Pole in time for Christmas. We were able to decorate some lovely present pictures to make a nice Christmas display.
P5 and P6 did some Christmas shopping today. We had written our shopping list, earned our money and practised how we were going to chat to the people working in the shop.
An hour later we were all shopped out and had finally decided on our choices. But you will have to wait until Christmas to see what has been bought!
Dont forget if you are in Bloomfield to support our school and vote for Donaghadeer our reindeer.
We have been working on our Length topic in class. We have been talking about centimetres and metres and practising using rulers to measure things.
We have made an early start to our Christmas theme. We worked in groups to come up with some ideas for Christmassy words beginning with each letter in the word “Christmas”. Then we wrote a special poem choosing one word for each letter. Everyone did a great job. I was really pleased with the great ideas that everyone came up with.
In P5 we take part in a programme called Roots of Empathy. We have a baby as our teacher and he comes in each month and visits us. We can ask his mummy questions and best of all we can get to see how he is growing and changing. We learn about feelings and how we can understand each other better.
The next time you are in Bloomfield Shopping centre look out for "Donaghadeer" our beautiful reindeer decorated by the pupils in KS3. He looks absolutely amazing with a lovely seaside picture all over his body. You can help the school to win £1000 by voting for him to be the winner. Hope you can support us?
P5 are enjoying creating Rangoli pictures in art with Mrs Davey.
As part of our Mighty Me topic we talked about our senses and how much we used them everyday. We put on blindfolds and just used our sense of touch to try and work out what each item was.
Next we used our sense of smell to try and guess what each smell was. Everyone was able to guess vinegar but no-one was able to guess jam!
Halloween fun day! P5 had fun dressing up in costume and enjoyed the Halloween disco with Mr Scates and Mr Jamison.
We had great fun doing some baking . Mrs Shaw showed us how to make apple crumble. The best part was that we all got to eat it!
P5 really enjoyed going to see the M and M production of The Wizard of Oz . Have a look at some of the characters that they saw and enjoy talking about them.
We have had a bit of a "topsy turvy" day in P5 today. While some people were painting Hallowe'en pictures other people were making Christmas Cards. Don't worry Mrs Vance isn't trying to be organised for Christmas we just want to try and win the school Christmas Card Competition!
We have been learning all about keeping ourselves fit and healthy. We learnt about the foods that we need to eat everyday as well as the foods that we should only have as a treat. We also heard about how important it is to do exercise everyday . Here we are having good fun doing our exercises.
We all enjoy going to our Art class with Mrs Davey. We have been looking for signs of Autumn and on our trip to Mount Stewart last week we collected lovely Autumn leaves. We were using our pencils to make rubbings of these leaves today.
The ladies from The Chest Heart and Stroke Association came to our school today to tell us about all the things that we need to eat to keep healthy and fit.
We had great fun today at Mount Stewart looking for signs of Autumn. It was great fun searching for leaves and climbing trees.
We are working hard and doing great number work.
“P5 enjoy doing number work on the interactive whiteboard.”
P5 love to do Art!
