To celebrate World Book Day P4 brought in their favourite books to share with the class. We had a nice relaxing morning reading them and drinking hot chocolate in our slippers.

P4 enjoyed browsing the books at the book fair

P4 really enjoyed our full day trip to Mount Stewart. We arrived at Mount Stewart and had our snack outside in the sunshine. Next we walked to the Lake to feed the ducks and then walked all the way to the natural play park. We built dens and climbed the trees before heading back down to the education centre to have our lunch. We loved having our lunch out of school.

P4 made pancakes for Shrove Tuesday

P4 found lots of bargains at the Bring and Buy Sale. Thank you to everyone who brought money and donated items!

P4 were learning how to use the Beebots.

P4 had a great day at ten pin bowling. Everyone cheered on their team mates and lots of children got strikes. Well done Lilly who was Star Bowler and scored a massive 141 points!

The theme of Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week is 'Find Your Brave'. P4 read the story ‘The Darkest Dark’ which is inspired by the childhood of real life astronaut, Commander Chris Hatfield. As the book encourages children to overcome their darkest fears, P4 discussed different ways to be brave and then talked about the ways we can keep our minds and bodies healthy. We focused on the theme and shared how brave it is to ask for help if our minds are feeling sad or angry. P4 then came up with different ways to keep our minds healthy and we all did some yoga. Namaste!

P4 Celebrated Chinese New Year. We first made dragon masks and then read a story about the 12 Chinese zodiac animals. On Friday we made a Chinese stir fry with rice and noodles. We even had fortune cookies! What a super week celebrating the year of the rat!

P4 had an amazing day at Mount Stewart. We had a picnic outside, followed by a walk around the lake to feed the ducks and the swans some porridge and bread. After, we ran into the forest to look at the different trees, some children even climbed them! What a great day!

To kick off their new topic, Space Explorers, P4 made astronaut masks. We then pretended to blast off into space and watched videos of astronauts in the International Space Station.
