We finished the week with an H.E. lesson. Year 11 made their own pancakes. Working in pairs they weighed out all the ingredients, mixed them together and cooked them independently. It was fair to say that everyone was stuffed after eating them!!!! Well done year 11, another great week. See you Monday, Mr S!
Friday morning circuits was back with a bang!!! This week we added squats with a bar - Suzi was a star at this!!! We also added some step ups and some tricep dips!!! Quote of the day had to come from Georgia after she had finished......” Im all sweaty..... I feel like I’ve just had a bath.......yuucccccccckkkkkkkkk”
Part of our OCR “Making most of Leisure” unit was to find something that we found challenging. As a class we decided that getting up and talking in front of our classmates would be a challenge and something that we might find hard to do. Everyone made a PowerPoint on a subject of their choice and they then had to talk about it for a few minutes in front of the class. It was Kevin and Joshuas turn this week to talk to the class and they did an excellent job!!!!!! Watch this space for the rest of the classes efforts next week.
Year 11 completed their OCR Unit on charts this week. We are now able to input data into Microsoft Word and create bar, line and pie charts. Great work team!!!!!!
Thursday we looked at a new ocr unit “Making the most of leisure time”. We talked about what we do at home to relax, and what sort of things do we find challenging..
On Wednesday we had Badminton championships in the morning. Georgia came out as the winner this week, well done! We also started some cycling proficiency. Today we looked at bike safety and braking gradually to a stop!!
On Tuesday we spent some time working on our “Using ICT” course. This weeks task was to create a pie chart. We all voted on what types of movies we liked and that information was then used and is shown below in our work. Can you tell what types of movies are our favourite?...
Year 11 have had a fantastic week! We started the week with a walk in Donaghadee to take photos of local landmarks for our photography project. Here we are at the Moat.
On Tuesday we started using an app called ‘Get Epic’ that helps us with our reading. Each pupil had to read a book/comic of their choice and then talk to the class about it....... It was very EPIC!!!!
On Wednesday we concentrated on our ICT coursework, learning about Bar Charts and Pie Charts and using the ‘Copy and Paste’ function. We also sent Miss Lowry some emails.....Here is some of our work!!
Thursday we had a very exciting ‘Zoom’ call with the legend Miss Lowry and Clara the dog.
Hello Year 11 I have attached instructions to a new online reading resource that I hope you like. It is called getepic and it is indeed Epic! I hope you enjoy the books, quizzes and audiobooks. I'd appreciate any feedback. Take care. Mrs S

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Stay safe and see you in 2021! - Miss Lowry, Mrs Logan and Mr Yeates
What a wonderful last week of term! Santa visited school in a HELICOPTER!!! Miss Lowry’s dog Clara joined us for a walk to the lighthouse! We took part in some Zoom activities with other classes - a virtual PE lesson, cookery class, skittle making and bingo. It was lots of fun and great to see our friends through the screen. We have been watching classes “12 days of Christmas” video contributions: these should be being sent out so you can view them from home... ENJOY!
This Friday was Christmas Jumper Day! We had a fab day! First of all, we had hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream, while watching the hilarious film ‘Elf’. After break, we had a special visitor and received gifts of selection boxes and cozy fleece throws (thank you KPS!). We could choose which zone of the class we wanted to be in - iPads, crafts, Xbox, and board games. We had so much fun! We also had party nibbles and leftover birthday cake! YUM!
Thank you so much Year 11 for making my 30th Birthday so special! I loved all of my cards and video you made for me! I am a very lucky form teacher! - Miss L

This Friday, we were celebrating for multiple reasons! It was Children In Need day, so we dressed down to raise money. We were also celebrating our “Class of the Month” win with a chippy treat!! On top of this, we were filming our contribution to this year’s virtual advent calendar... STAY TUNED!
Year 11 have been very busy this week. Here is a sample of our Diary entries as Bruno. So much talent in one school 😍 Mrs Stewart

There was even more cake for Joshua’s birthday too! Double yum!!! Year 11 worked really hard throughout the rest of the week: getting back into the swing of lessons and coursework. Check out some of the photos of our maths lessons, and PE circuits session! Phew! We ended the week with an eco-schools lesson... stay tuned to see the video we created!
Making Hats - mini Prince’s Trust challenge
Our first week on a mixed timetable went really well! We have been introduced to our new qualifications which we will be studying this year! We started some coursework in maths, literacy, horticulture, art, and XL. It has been strange getting used to moving around the school again, but great to see more faces and get stuck in to some exciting work! We still have our weekly PE and music sessions too. Lots of Personal Bests were achieved in this week's cross country! A big "well done" to everyone for adapting so well to the changes!
Week 4 Our Last Little ‘bubble’ week.
We are all getting ready to join the other half of our class next week. We finished off our mini projects and tried some more team building games which was very successful. We finished ‘Gangsta Granny’ and looking forward to English classes next week. Our wall mural is nearly completed just some more lighthouses and seagulls to add ( not crows Mrs Davey).
Week 4 last little ‘bubble’ week
Another new ukulele song!
What a week phew! We started off with taking a walk to see the stones at the harbour in search of a few ideas. Mrs Davey has been reading Gangsta Granny and we had the chance to watch it too. Being in the art room meant we could have some fun with making our heads out of balloons, modroc and whatever we could find!!! We enjoyed our PE lesson and it is so good to be outside in the fresh air. Gardening gave us more opportunity to get outdoors in the sun. We finished off the week with starting a new outside art project with our ‘bubble’, watch this space!
